Oak Park ’ s Mae Boyar – Brookside Community

The Mae Boyar-Brookside community was the initial Oak Park, CA development back in 1968-1972 . Built on ranch land that had been owned by Hollywood celebrities, Fibber McGee & Molly Jordon, the early homes were at the very end of Kanan Road, and miles away from stores, schools, or any other community features. But today, the expanded community of Oak Park has top ranked schools, wonderful hiking and natural mountains surrounding them, and shopping, dining, and services just blocks away in either direction. The residents are actively involved in their neighborhood, planning for a new park building nearby, as well as their children's education and recreation. In fact, we have recently witnessed the third generation of Oak Park residents attending local schools. The high school has been named in the top 20 state-wide, and top 200 nation-wide for public schools, and the cross-country teams have won many division titles. Residents are across section of families, attracted to the high tech jobs and great schools, and they come from across the country, as well as China, Korea, Japan, Israel, France, England, Sweden, Bolivia, and other corners of the globe.
